Anti-farmer, pro-industrialists

A number of farmers in the state have committed suicide. In the past during drought the government immediately used to waive off taxes, give free seeds and distribute cash doles, thus assuring the farmers that the government was with them in this hour of crisis. But Modi hasn’t done anything of the sort. Instead, he had a lavish programme at Junagadh while the farmers of Saurasthra were facing drought, and worse, he did not utter even a word about the farmers in his speech there.

Modi who is indulging in politics in the name of cow has given away 3.30 lakh hectare gauchar land to his favourite industrialists. As a result there is a situation where farmers cannot take care of the old animals. There is no need for any law. It is a known fact that a farmer or cattle owner would never sell his gaucher till the animal died but here the CM has started selling gaucher land and consequently, animal owners are forced to take their animals to slaughter houses. Modi is responsible for this sin.

How can people of Gujarat forget the empty rhetoric of Modi who had also bragged during the last assembly polls that Gujarat has found 20 TCF oil and gas in the KG basin? He had said that there will be a time when petrol and diesel will flow out of the water taps of the farmers and that they will not ferry milk cans but petrol containers.

These lies now stand exposed. There is a corruption of Rs 10,000 crore in KG basin and there is no trace of a drop of oil or a bubble of gas yet. The Gujarat Congress has already come down heavily on Modi in this context and alleged that the chief minister himself has siphoned off the Gujarat State Power Corporation money.

Modi knows which side of his loaf of bread he has to butter. He loves industrialists, but only a select coterie.

He has given favours to big industrialists. In the past there was reservation for jobs for Gujaratis both in the technical field as well as general. But Modi has given complete exemption from this to industrialists and as a result the youth unemployment rate has soared.
